Bye bye 2012, Welcome 2013!
2012 was quite a BIG DEAL for Sentel. It was a year of few but huge changes. Let me write something that can sum up the things happened for Sentel in 2012. Read more →

The last month we began building our portfolio in the Envato marketplace. We made our debut in Graphicriver, with a simple logo. This very first logo is bought already twice! We are very happy to see this!
We are continuing to enrich our portfolio by uploading photographs in Photodune and a second item in logos. We are expecting photographs to be approved very soon. The first batch of photographs will be about “Cyclades”

Let’s face the fact that administrative tasks are much more time consuming than you imagine. The problem gets bigger as the clients and websites lists, I need to maintain get bigger and bigger.
I still remember old times where backing up websites and assets were pain in the ass. Burning and filing CDs (yeah, do you remember them???) was a total waste of time and money. Now I praise the lord for the tools I have available and make my life easier as a webmaster (sic). If you are interested in the tools and services I use in Sentel to keep my mind sane, I will quickly name the most important: WPRemote (for keeping websites up to date), Dropbox (for storing everything – and by everything, I mean EVERYTHING) and CloudFlare (for taking some of the bandwidth and attack pain away). I will talk more on how Sentel takes advantage of these services in another post.
Although there are these wonderful tools which let me have some peace of mind, there are times, things are getting wild and some tasks are left behind. Some updates need more care because of huge code changes, some auto backups missed schedule (always happen) etc.
These are some of the reasons, we dedicate the first days of July, October, January and April, to prioritize updates and backups. Our goal, during maintenance days, is to have every website we manage and its plugins updated to the latest version. Also we make sure our backup log works correctly, renew the domains that will expire in the next 4 months and re-organize the client assets in our dropbox account.
I see these days as a checkpoint, where I draw a line and say “Until here everything is happy, now i have the 4 next months to mess things up!” ![]()
Probably I am the kind of person that needs to summarize things from time to time. I think I work better this way.
You probably have noticed that we revamped our website. We are happy that the old one was mentioned about its simplicity in many design blogs out there. But things are getting bigger and we want this website to be more of a starting point for all of our projects. Sentel is planning more fundamental changes. Hopefully in March we will be happy to announce more stuff!
Our main goal for this redesign is to present to potential clients the whole glory of Sentel and let current clients learn some aspects of us that they probably are unaware of.
First of all we are happy to announce that we standardize the companies we use to host, protect and serve our clients. Secondly we update our portfolio and we will finalize it in an easy to navigate format.
We also improve our Blog. We create different categories featuring technology, strategy, market news and sentelicious (our company news). Also we want to upgrade our blog, by adding more articles about design, web strategy and branding.
Specky Boy announced its top 50 web design form list for 2011. Sentel is happy to be part of this list and witness that our efforts and work have been recognized in a broader audience. For the new year we have more exciting projects in the pipeline for development. As soon as possible we will be letting you know of the upcoming projects – that is when we have finished the party preparations for the new year.
October was a very productive month for Sentel! We were working on a quite huge project for a client. Eazygreece.com is taking full advantage of WordPress combined with three of the top-notch plugins out there. Woocommerce + BBpress + WPML.
For this website we created something unique! A travel deals website using Woocommerce and a custom build extension for Product Expiration + Countdown script, a travel Forum using BBpress, a Reviews and News magazine and all of these in English, German and Greek using WPML, with the prospect to include more languages soon!
Currently the website is under review and is not finalized, but is full working. Check the screenshots below to have an idea of what we are going to launch in November!
We are very happy to see Noupe.com a great web design blog – and part of the famous Smashing Network, mention our website, in their article Traits of Successful Website Welcome Pages.
Thank you guys very much!
We are back and we hope you all had a very nice and relaxing summer!
From our side we have some very interesting stuff coming on the next couple of weeks. A brand new service for the Greek market and a new web product for the worldwide market.
During this summer break, our art director Livya, launched another niche blog, this time is About Wedding and is targeting purely to the Greek market! Of course the theme is custom made for wordpress and is adapting every monitor size like all of our new themes!
So, stay tuned for our new announces!
The summer is here and we would like to inform our partners that for the next days, all Sentel members will be on vacation.
Specifically our official closed days are from the 8th to the 18th of August. During this time any support responses will be a bit slow.
We would like to thank you for your understanding and wish you happy holidays!
Yesterday we wrote about the forthcoming updates on each page of our website. We began with the “Why Sentel” page and today we are happy to say that we reach a good result with the “Work” page.
Although we are missing descriptions on our portfolio items, you can see teasers and visit the websites!
